Margaret Rooney 92, of Allentown, passed away on Wednesday November 6, 2019. Margaret was the wife of the late Robert Rooney Sr.. Born in Locust Gap, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Harry and Veronica (Kurtz) O'Brien. After graduating from the Scared Heart School of Nursing, Margaret worked as a registered nurse at Sacred Heart hospital for many years prior to her retirement in 1992. She was honored as the recipient of the Helen Seips Award in Nursing. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Nurses Auxiliary, the Red Hat Society, and volunteered at Sacred Heart Hospital. Surviving are her sons: Tim (Jean) of Allentown, Robert Jr. (Judy) of Coopersburg, Patrick (Toni) of Chambersburg, and Michael (Trina) of Bethlehem. Margaret's brother is William (MaryLou) of Lewisburg. She has 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her sisters; Rosemary Gallagher, and Joanne Higgins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday November 16, 2019 at 10:30 am in St. Thomas More Church. Calling will be from 9:00-10:30 am in the church vestibule. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Margaret's memory to the Alzheimer's Association. Mary I. Schwab, 93, of Allentown, passed away on Wednesday October 30, 2019. Mary was the wife of the late Ernest N. Schwab who passed in 2008. Born in Allentown she was a daughter of the late George and Catherine (Mai) Nonemacher. Mary worked as a seamstress for over 50 years for the former Kemps Sporstwear and the former Penn State Mills. She was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church where she volunteered at the parish carnival for many years. She was a member of the Italian American Bocce Club where she was on the bowling league, and was a member of the Fearless Fire Co. traveling bowling league. Surviving are her sons: Ernest G. (Judy), John F., Richard J. (Christina) all of Allentown, and Edward M. (Ann Marie) of Whitehall. Her daughters; Donna wife of Robert Mengel of Allentown, and Maryann Kline of Whitehall. Mary's sisters are; Marion Freer of Allentown, and Catherine Ohner in West Virginia. Mary has 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 11 siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday November 4, 2019 at 10:00 am in Our Lady Help of Christians. Geraldine A. Meyers 89, of Allentown, passed away on Friday October 25, 2019 at home in the presence of her devoted family. She was the wife of Raymond J. Meyers and they celebrated their 68th anniversary this past June. Born in Allentown she was a daughter of the late James P. and Anna E. (Brogan) Nolfa. Gerry was a 1948 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School where she received the outstanding award for stenography. She was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Church where she was a past president of the Altar and Rosary Society, chaired the Catholic Charities Drive, conducted the hoagie sale, and volunteered in the school cafeteria, library, and bingo. Gerry worked for the late Attorney James G. Kellar for 43 years, and previously worked for George J. Joseph in the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office. Surviving with her husband are a son Christopher at home and her daughter Laurann wife of Michael Boyer. Her three grandchildren; Dinamichele, Aaron, and Annamarie Boyer, all of Allentown. Brother James, sister Dolores wife of Robert Schock both of Allentown, and brother in law Staney Oleynik of Bethlehem. She was preceded in death by her sisters Marylouise Oleynik, Rose Dauscher, Grace Paul, Joanne Koury, and her grandson Raymond Boyer. Her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, and grandmother to those she loved dearly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday October 30, at 11:00 am in Our Lady Help of Christians. Calling will be from 9:45-10:45 am in the church. Gloria Killo, 94, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 20, 2019. Gloria was the wife of the late Lawrence F. Killo, and they celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary before his passing in 2005. Born in Allentown, Gloria was a daughter of the late Martin and Irene (White) Fatzinger. Gloria and her husband were former members of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Allentown. Gloria worked as a manufacturer for Allentown Manufacturing and Nannette over the years. Surviving Gloria is her son Larry and his wife Katheryn of Allentown. Additionally Gloria is survived by her granddaughter Kara and her brother Glenn Fatzinger. She was preceded in death by her siblings Martin Fatzinger, Elaine Albert and Betty Sigler. Services are private at the wishes of the family.
